Dear Students and Parents:
Please review this studio policy, then sign below and return it to me prior to your first lesson.
Scheduling :
Lessons are ½ hour in length, once a week.  Each student will have a set time for his or her lesson. The only time there are no lessons are during Christmas Break and Spring Break for the Medina City Schools. If school is off for any other reason, however, your lesson is still scheduled. This includes teacher inservice days, or parent/ teacher conference days, or several other Mondays within the year in which there are holidays; (for example , Columbus Day.)
There are no makeup times for lessons missed by the student
However,  in case there is a problem with the lesson time, students will be given the names and numbers, along with lesson times of the other students.  This “swap list” will allow you to change your lesson time with another student for that week.  In the event that the lesson is cancelled by me,  your account will be credited $20.  Please note: There are no credits given for lessons missed by the student.

If there is a snow day for Medina City Schools , lessons will be determined later in the day.  I will be in touch as to weather we will cancel or still have lessons.  If your lesson is cancelled by me then you will receive a $20 credit for the next month.  Thank you.

The tuition per month is $80.00.  This is averaged over how many lessons are given within a year, so that the fee is per month rather than per lesson. With Christmas and Spring Breaks and according to the lesson calendar schedule, this breaks down to approximately $20 per lesson.
The tuition is due at the first lesson of every month.  Checks may be made payable to Kirsten Forshew, or cash is accepted if change is exact. You will receive an invoice through the website before the first of the month reminding you tuition is due.  After that, if a payment is not entered or made at the first lesson, invoices will automatically continue to come to your email until a payment for that month is made.  You will get a receipt for your payment via email.  If it becomes difficult to keep up with your account, the student may be asked to take some time off until your account can be kept more up to date.
Lessons are given from my home at 4588 Lexington Ridge Drive in Medina.  Parents are welcome to observe the first lesson, however following the first lesson the student will generally perform better if they attend lessons on their own.
In order for you to receive the maximum benefit offered in private study, a regular practice time is highly encouraged. For this reason, I give the students specific things to work on, as well as put assignments and things we discussed in their lesson notes each week, which are emailed home.  Parents play an important part in this encouragement, as I only see the student once a week.  I will inform the students at the lessons what to work on, and for vocal students their practice involves working with recordings I send them over email.   If after a period of time it becomes difficult for the student to keep a practice commitment, he or she may be asked to take some time off from lessons until a more consistent practice schedule may be kept.

Please tear off the portion below and return it to me at your first lesson.  By signing, you have indicated that you have read, understood, and agree to this policy.  Thank you, and I look forward to working with you!
